Learner Attendance

Coast Mountains School District aims to ensure that all learners are provided with quality instruction to maximize their opportunities to realize their full potential. Regular attendance is key to supporting this goal.

Consistent attendance is critical to student success. Starting in Kindergarten, establishing consistent routines for your child in attending school regularly will help their social-emotional well-being as well as set them up to succeed in school.

Regular attendance is very important – a student's overall growth increases significantly over time when they attend regularly and have strong connections to all aspects of classroom and school learning. Research demonstrates there is a powerful link between successful learning and regular school attendance.

Students who have regular attendance have more opportunities to participate in learning activities and form relationships with others, and this increases the likelihood of school bonding and successful high school completion.
